vol 2011. page 01.
I was twelve. In a pink dress my mother made me wear and a camera strapped around my neck. It was my step-brothers wedding, a hot summer day in Texas and my only job for the day was to take pictures. Whether it was to keep me from asking how much longer we had to stay, a ploy to keep me occupied or simply because she wanted more pictures than the professional would take, I'm not sure. But I watched people. And with a camera in my hands I could see everything differently. When we returned home, the film developed and my mother and I spread out the photographs around the living room coffee table we poured over the images that told the story of their day. At that moment, I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
As a photographer, I am blessed to see the world differently as others do. I'm a keeper of moments, of memories. I'm a story teller. Whats left in photographs is the legacy you leave behind.
And I'd love to tell your story.
